ELECTRO-OPTIC MODULATORS
BBO Electro-Modulators(BBO EOM)
Electro optic effect is the change of refractive index of crystal under the action of electric field parallel to the optical axis of crystal. The change of refractive index is a linear function of applied voltage and depends on the direction and polarization of incident beam. The nonlinear crystals used to make pucker box include BBO, KDP, DKDP, LiNbO, LitaO, KTP, RTP ADP, etc. The BBO photoelectric crystal manufactured by CASTON has many significant advantages in temperature stability、 High average power handling、etc.
CASTON'S BBO EOM Features:
● Low internal loss
● Small piezoelectric ringing
● Resonance free operation
● High average power handling
● High contrast ratio up to 200:1
● High speed switching up to 30KHZ
● High damage threshold, more than 20kW/cm2CW
CASTON'S BBO EOM applied to:
● Electro optic modulators are widely used to control the phase, amplitude or polarization state or power of laser beams
● BBO is mainly used as a longitudinal field modulator when the electric field is perpendicular to the beam direction
